Synopsis

20- year old Aria has always been exceptional. Whether it was her pre-med classes or making her parents proud, she’s always striving to be on top. And to an Indian-American girl in New Jersey, dance was no exception. So for the last two years, Aria has been part of one of the top Bollywood dance teams in the competitive circuit, RU Nasha. In fact, she has a full-ride scholarship at Ridge University because of her dance skills. Aria’s college Bollywood dance team RU Nasha is the envy of every brown girl at Ridge University, NJ. They have placed at every big competition in the last 3 years. Getting in was basically like rushing a brown sorority. In the world of RU Zinda dance is war. Colleges from across the USA have teams each spending hundreds of hours preparing for the competitions. Aria is part of one of the best teams, RU Nasha. However, at a party Aria is falsely accused of leaking the mix by playing it out loud and dancing to it while a rival team was present. Never having given up on anything, and with her dance scholarship on the line, Aria must bring together a group of rejects to build a new dance team. As she pulls together what may be a hopeless team and prepares to face humiliation, Aria finds evidence that her best friend/roommate and boyfriend are the ones who got her kicked off the old team. As Aria navigates the cut-throat world of Bollywood Dance and college drama she must face who she is and what dance truly means to her.
